After graduating from high school in Bruce, MS Jesse attended the University of Mississippi where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1981. Over the next 20 years Jesse worked in the family insurance business eventually becoming the sole-owner. In 1999, Jesse was elected to serve as Mayor of Bruce. He was reelected twice and served a total of 9 years. Through this experience, Jesse was introduced to economic development. He returned to graduate school where he earned a Master’s Degree in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2009.

Jesse began work in Economic Development in 2008 when he was hired to work for the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce. Since 2008, Jesse has helped to attract approximately $400,000,000 in new and existing industry expansions in numerous industry sectors including aviation, forestry, chemical, advanced manufacturing and warehouse/distribution. These projects have created over 500 new jobs.

Jesse is an entrepreneur at heart and has owned and or started multiple businesses. Jesse just celebrated his 39th year of marriage with his wife Linda. They have two sons, Preston and Peyton. Peyton is a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Oxford, MS. Preston is a worship pastor in Eclectic, AL and married to Edie. They have four children, Norah, Amos, Zoey and Phoebe.
